If your company was reviewed by current and past employees, what would they say?

Would you make the top list or fall towards the bottom of the list?

The top two places potential candidates will go to learn about your company are:

  1. Your website is one of the first stops job seekers will go. This is where they will obtain basic information about your company, it’s mission and it’s vision. It will also provide insight on who the leaders are, the diversity makeup of those employed there and possibly some details about the climate they should expect. What does your website say about you?

  2. Not only are potential employers using social media to do some “digging” on potential hires, job seekers use it to research more about employers. They want to learn about the people they will be working for and get more insight from a “personal” perspective. What does your personal or business pages say about you?

A final strategic tip is to continue to improve the experiences for those currently employed at your company. As you saw with Glassdoor, your team members of the present and past can provide feedback on certain online spaces. This provides candidates an inside view of what they might expect if they accept that offer. This can be your greatest tool or backfire if you are not nurturing those internal relationships.
